Luchemos por la Vida's 30th Anniversary - Pedestrians Part II

Pay attention, pay attention ... Pedestrian (Part II)

In 1990, pedestrian priority, required by law, was not a government concern. Drivers who rarely complied with it, were not penalized. In a study about the behavior of drivers carried out by Luchemos in Buenos Aires (2002),  it was found that only 1 traffic violation  was issued for every 2.410.690 non-compliances of pedestrian priority! Then, we asked authorities a serious enforcement of pedestrian rights.

Meanwhile, Luchemos started to promote walking not only for the safety of pedestrians but for the environment, and permanently calls for the environmental improvement, through mobility lanes for the protection of the most vulnerable, with a reduction in maximum speed limits to preserve their lives.

The latest Luchemos campaign, currently on the air, reminds drivers of their responsibility to put into practice pedestrian priority and its consequences for life if they don't.

On June 20th, Luchemos por la Vida turned 30 years old. Long time of intense and fruitful work. But there is still a lot to do to accomplish the utopia of nobody dying in traffic. This is everyone's task.

Luchemos keeps fighting for life!
