Saladillo is the protagonist of an unprecedented fact: having been selected, with the city of Río Cuarto in Córdoba, to be part of a global project of community work and research to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol among young people.
This program will be developed, in Argentina, under the management of the Association Luchemos por la Vida, and with the active participation of committed and young adults of the community of Saladillo and the collaboration of the local municipality. Several activities will be developed over the next two years: educational, community, prevention and control, training, etc. The results of these activities will be evaluated by a CONICET’s research team of the University of Mar del Plata and will be disseminated at the international level, since the comparison of the impact of these actions in the different cultural and social contexts in different countries will be very useful to understand and improve the global approach to this problem that causes millions of victims in the traffic every year.
